Spotlight: The benefits of a wind operation were instant early in the year, winning a 6f handicap at Newcastle before following up in a Listed race at Lingfield; two subsequent AW runs saw him record RPRs of 112 and 114 and although he has been absent since May, he has an excellent record fresh; no penalty today and he looks the one to beat.

Spotlight: Unraced on AW since his winning racecourse debut in October 2023 (7f, Polytrack); lots of strong turf form since, including a second of 13 in a Doncaster Listed race three weeks ago (6f, heavy); drawn widest but each-way claims at least.

Spotlight: As good as ever this year, finishing second in the Portland at Doncaster and just missing out in an Ascot Group 3 last month (6f, soft); finished behind Zoum Zoum when sixth at Doncaster three weeks ago; useful on Polytrack in his youth but this his first Tapeta run and his first on AW for over three years.

Spotlight: Globetrotting this year, winning a valuable prize in Qatar in February (6f, good) and runner-up in a Grade 2 in America in April (5.5f, good); 100-1 when down the field in the July Cup when last seen but this is more manageable and he should be fine on AW.

Spotlight: Made a fine start for new connections last winter, notably when winning a 7f Listed event at Wolverhampton in March; plenty of tough assignments since then but he won a Newmarket handicap in August (7f) and should appreciate returning to AW; contender.

Spotlight: Made giant strides as a 3yo, completing a six-timer when winning the Ayr Silver Cup in fine style; absent for 343 days prior to her return in the Ayr Gold Cup and finished down the field; more like it when third at Newmarket seven weeks ago (6f, Listed) but she'll need another step forward to trouble the principals.

Spotlight: C&D winner as a 2yo; impressed in a Newmarket handicap in May and back near that level when running well off a high mark at Kempton this month (cheekpieces tried, absent today); suspicion he'll need a good leap forward to take this though.

Spotlight: He was making just his third start when good third of six in Group 1 Middle Park at Newmarket (6f, soft) last September, beaten about 5l; down the field on his seasonal return in April (6f, good to firm) and absent since; unexposed but others are safer.

Spotlight: Positives include proven ability on the surface, high-class back form and proven ability after a lay off; that said, a 510-day absence isn't ideal and this is a rare 6f outing.

Spotlight: Capable of useful form given her reluctance to settle and she produced a new high when beating ten rivals in a Class 2 7f handicap at Newbury in August; easy to excuse a subsequent Group 3 defeat (7f on soft ground); drop back in trip could be beneficial and she's not ruled out.

Spotlight: In fine form over 6f in the first half of the year, winning three times; has shown promise on AW too but even her best form is short of what will be needed today.

Spotlight: Fine record on AW over 6f, winning four handicaps, and she showed she could do it on turf too when winning well at York in May (5f, good); ran better than the distance beaten in a Beverley Listed race in August and latest Newbury run not the one to judge her on; returning to AW will suit and she's likely to outrun her expected odds in this field.

Spotlight: Won twice on turf as a 2yo; limitations seemingly established in Listed company this year and she is hard to make a case for.
